Why should electric spark drilling machines use electrode copper tube

The electric spark drilling machine is commonly known as punching machine, drilling machine, small hole EDM machine, fine hole discharge motor. Its working principle is using the copper tubes (called electrode wire) moving continuously up and down vertically as the electrodes to conduct pulse spark discharge on workpiece and etch metal. Discharge between electrode wire and metal produces high temperature to etch metal to achieve the purpose of piercing.

The electrodes used by the electric spark drilling machine is red copper and brass, with the electrode diameter range of Φ0.1 to Φ3.0 mm. Different electrodes are used for different parts: brass electrodes are used for steel workpiece, red copper electrode tubes are used for tungsten steel workpiece, red copper electrode tubes are used for brass workpiece, brass electrode tubes are used for aluminum workpiece, and brass electrode tubes are used for graphite workpiece.
